GOOD WISHES
Written by Sunita Grover Raina
From India Maybe I did not try that hard enough
And all good wishes failed
Maybe wishes were not that sincere enough
Those loved one early derailed I tried my best to give my all
Did whatever best I could
When morning came and when night did fall
None with me those days stood.
It was my will that stood me still
All looked at me in awe
But life so strange though made me ill
Kept me away from death's jaw
I may be living but I am dead
Welcome what comes my way
Turned death into a lover instead
Let lover take me away
Let I be laid on bed with roses
And sleep which never awakes
Death lovingly giving sleep doses
Nothing in world could wake
Dreamt always of love unending
Only death can be that lover
For life had pain, that too non mending
And sadness around to hover
I now know well that death is must
It will surely come to take
Had wishes worked, but they turned to rust
No life would then be at stake.
Maybe I did not try that hard enough
And all good wishes failed
Maybe wishes were not that sincere enough
Those loved ones early derailed.
