How long is eternity?
Sounds never ending
We compare it to infinity
But everything that's supposed to last forever
Always seems to come to an end
So I get confused
When I look to the sky

What is this water hitting my eye
Rain full of pain from a shame
Hitting the earth
My world is awake
Taking a chance on whatever it takes
To build
We break

Renew and replace
Nine to five
When life seems to favor those who take
Our mind puts us in a cage
Imprisoned moments
Is when we realize
Everyone dies
But not everyone lives

Why is the richest place
When we've got one foot in the grave
After we've grown old and decayed
Remembering those hopes and dreams
And how time is not a commodity
That we cannot regain
Is the day
