Triolet Poems

On January 6-8, we offered a Vocabulary Word of the Week (Perseverance) to poets, who were required to write in the Triolet poetry form (consists of 8 lines with a rhyme scheme of ABaAabAB. Four Best Entries were chosen. "TO MEET A DREAM"

From the start debacles pave life's road
One grapples each to meet an elusive dream
Let fulfillment be the greasy goad
From the start debacle pave life's road
Legends say perseverance lightens the load
Steadfast faith soon ends the trek at a serene stream
From the start debacles pave life's road
One grapples each to meet an elusive dream.

© Loreta C. Bande "CROSSROADS" At the crossroads of life, a hasty predicament
A choice to make, the right pathway to take
Provoke the mind, to draw a wise judgement
At the crossroads of life, a hasty predicament
Prudence and perseverance are life's brilliant elements
To wield like shining armors, either to make or break
At the crossroads of life, a hasty predicament
A choice to make, the right pathway to take.

© Gus Perez Amio "LEAST EFFORT BUT NOT LAST" Perseverance in every effort
Be a turtle to win the life's race
Prosperity can be seen in divine comfort
Perseverance in every effort
Least but not last whatever the cost
Strive with lofty ambitions, there's grace
Perseverance in every effort
Be a turtle to win the life's race. © Farhan Anjum "PERSEVERANCE IS MY WAY" To succeed, perseverance is my way.
Hard sacrifice for years in order to rise,
study at night and work during the day.
To succeed, perseverance is my way,
One must brave storms that come at bay.
Life comforts sometimes one denies,
to succeed, perseverance is my way
Hard sacrifice for years in order to rise.
