Editor's Choice: "The Man"

ree

April 2025 "Editor's Choice"

Life goes on, and we follow the course,

Like skiffs lost on seas without recourse.

Our thought, fragile rows in the swarm,

Attempt to reach a sense that the mystery crowds.

I am a son of a time full of dark wisdom,

But I went through it, heavy heart, uncertain soul.

Between a dream that drowns me in burning thirst,

And a fleeting mirage, in the flickering shadow.

I made mistakes, but my mistakes were lessons,

Because the soul is built from its deep prisons.

I followed craziness that no one forgives me,

Except the candor of a mind that innocence crowns.

Never talk to me about chains in liberty,

The free doesn't accept lies or wounded pride.

I am the one that no dogma has been able to discern,

I believed only in man, in his born truth.

So let them fall, dead ideologies,

If they don't open to man his way, his own door...
