SHADOWS

The trees cast shadows

across the deserted scene

And a breeze stirred

in the cool air

which pervaded a benign dominion

Beneath vast boughs

that arched over an idyll

Where fields of emerald green

carpeted the realm

It ruffled the leaves

that fluttered in the pale light

of a tranquil eventide

And stirred the waters

which sparkled upon a placid lake

As it exulted in the stillness

amid a deserted scape

Bathed in the lambency of a sublime dusk
